Building the front door of a four-sided marketplace

Skim shows only the brief.

Problem

Entrepreneurs need founders, service providers, mentors and investors, and each of those groups shows up wanting something different. A marketplace like this succeeds or fails on whether every side gets value in its first session.

What I owned

  • The PRD: feature definitions, user stories, functional requirements
  • Onboarding flows for platform users
  • The beta program and feedback analysis
  • Delivery with engineers, UX/UI and business managers

Key calls

  • A written source of truth before anything was built
  • Onboarding as the product's first promise
  • Beta as a learning loop, not a launch rehearsal

Outcome

The onboarding work led to improved engagement and satisfaction in beta. Beta feedback drove the next iterations.

Context

LaunchConnect is a digital marketplace that connects entrepreneurs with the people who can help them grow: other founders, service providers, mentors and investors.

01

Write it down before you build it

With developers, designers and business managers moving at once, the team needed one reference. I created and managed the product requirements document: feature definitions, user stories and functional requirements that everyone could point to when priorities collided.

02

Onboarding is the first promise

A four-sided marketplace makes four different first impressions. I designed the onboarding flows that bring users onto the platform, and the result was improved engagement and satisfaction.

03

Beta as a learning loop

I managed the beta testing process: collecting and analysing user feedback and turning it into iterative improvements, so we found the wrong assumptions while they were still cheap to fix.
